ST. REGIS MOHAWK RESERVATION The eight Mohawk Tribal Council candidates competing in this weekend's election differ mainly on how not if casinos should operate on the Indian reservation.

Incumbent Head Chief John Loran faces seven challengers in today's election on the St. Regis Mohawk reservation. Loran was widely criticized during his first three-year term in office for compromising the tribe's interests to pursue casino gaming.
